About Katherine
Katherine C. Bernstein, founding attorney, brings more than a decade of experience as co-founder and partner at Richardson & Richardson, LLC. She established her own practice to continue serving families with a legal approach that is personalized, compassionate, and practical.
Originally from New York City, Katherine now calls Monmouth County home. Her practice is devoted exclusively to family law, including divorce, child custody and support, prenuptial agreements, and post-judgment matters. She is committed to guiding clients through some of life’s most difficult transitions with clarity and confidence, always prioritizing both their immediate needs and long-term stability.
Katherine’s background is distinguished by both legal and business experience. She earned her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law–Newark, after receiving her MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and her B.A. in English from Barnard College at Columbia University. Before becoming an attorney, she spent nearly a decade in corporate America, an experience that informs her strategic and practical approach to legal problem-solving.
Following law school, Katherine interned and clerked for multiple judges, including a full-term clerkship with the Honorable John E. Selser, III, in the Family Part of the Passaic County Superior Court. Since then, she has devoted her entire career to family law, combining her courtroom experience with a commitment to alternative dispute resolution where appropriate.
Today, through her independent practice, Katherine continues to serve as a strong advocate and steady guide for her clients, helping them navigate complex family law issues and move forward with security and peace of mind.
